University of New Mexico's Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho has expanded its spinal surgery options with the addition of an endoscopic spine surgery program, according to an Albuquerque Journal report.
The program was made possible through a $2.5 million donation to the hospital last year by Anthony Yeung, MD.
The surgical technique can be used to treat patients suffering from sciatica as well as herniated discs in the lower back. The hospital has equipped its operating room with the tools needed for the technique, according to the report.
