Here are seven recent achievements and new leadership roles for spine surgeons and neurosurgeons.

Hospital for Special Surgery named Todd J. Albert, MD, surgeon-in-chief and medical director, effective July 1.


 
The American Association of Neurological Surgeons named H. Hunter Batjer, MD, FAANS, president-elect for 2015 to 2016.


 
Richard Francis, MD, of Bellaire, Texas-based Spine Associates was featured in Small Business Trendsetters for his work with children and adults suffering from scoliosis.

 

The American Association of Neurological Surgeons named Robert E. Harbaugh, MD, FAANS, president for 2015 to 2016.

 

Larry Khoo, MD, director of the Spine Center of Los Angeles on the Good Samaritan Medical Center campus, will be the featured lecturer at the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Techniques.

 

Patrick A. Roth, MD, chairman of neurosurgery at Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center, was included in Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Edition, a publication that highlights the professional lives of individuals who have contributed significantly to their field.

 

Troy M. Tippett, MD, was awarded the Harvey Cushing Medal by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons for his contributions to neurosurgery through leadership, service and dedication.
