The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery participated in a conference call with the American Medical Association addressing the SGR repeal legislation.
The "SGR Repeal and Medicare Provider Payment Modernization Act of 2014," would immediately repeal SGR but does not include financial offsets or the usual extender policies. The legislation would provide 0.5 percent positive annual payment updates for the next five years and the 5 percent added incentive payment for physicians in alternative payment models is retained.
