Thomas Sylvester, MD, moved from St. Mary's Health Center in Green Bay, Wisc., to Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls, Wisc.

 

Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center in Akron, Ohio, added four new orthopedic surgeons to its staff. They are Daniel Myer, MD (sports medicine); Jonathan Kase, MD (sports medicine, arthroscopic medicine); Kyle Nelman, MD (sports medicine); and Jovan Laskovski, MD (sports medicine and arthroscopic medicine). CCOC will add orthopedic surgeons Erin Dean, MD (foot, ankle), and Rafal Stachowitcz, MD (hand, upper extremity) to its staff in August.

 

Mir Ali, MD, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, joined Rezin Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Morris, Ill.

 

Nathan Richardson, MD, joined Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho, after completing a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Center for Orthopedic Research and Education Institute in Phoenix.

 

Kenneth Newhouse, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, also joined Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho.

 

Kyle Hubler, MD, joined the University Orthopedic Clinic at Tyrone (Pa.) Hospital.

 

Laura Lemke, MD, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, joined Midwest Orthopedic Institute in Sycamore, Ill.

 

Lincoln (Neb.) Orthopaedic Center hired orthopedic surgeons Dennis Bozarth, MD, and Geoffrey McCullen MD.

 

 

Appointments

Neurosurgery resident Maya Babu, MD, and pediatric neurosurgeon Monica C. Wehby, MD, were elected to the American Medical Association board of trustees. Dr. Babu is newly-elected, while Dr. Wehby is a returning board member.

 

Stacey Berner, MD, board-certified hand surgeon, was named president of SurgCenter Development, a company that helps to create physician-owned ASCs.

 

Andrew Bazos, MD, will begin treating patients at Western Connecticut Orthopedic Specialists in Sharon, Conn. He will also remain in his current positions at The Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, Danbury (Conn.) Hospital and Danbury (Conn.) Surgical Center.

 

Steven Hindman, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon, was appointed director of orthopedic surgery at Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital.

 

William Dexter, MD, was appointed president of the American College of Sports Medicine.

 

Steven Gitelis, MD, was appointed associate dean of surgical services at Rush Medical College in Chicago and associate chief medical officer for surgery and chief of surgery at Rush University in Chicago.

 

Zachary Landman, MD, joined DoctorBase as chief medical officer.

 

Blake Curd, MD, was appointed to the South Dakota State Senate by Gov. Dennis Daugaard.

 

Jonathan Snyder, MD, was named a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

 

Victor Wilson became head orthopedist for the minor league baseball team the Springfield (Mo.) Cardinals.

 

Mark Galland, MD, of Louisburg, N.C.-based Orthopaedic Specialists of North Carolina, was appointed team physician and medical director for athletic teams at Rolesville High School in Wake Forest, N.C.
