The North American Spine Society will be providing various grants for research funding in 2013. Five types of funding are available — research grants; young investigator grants; nontraditional, nonsurgical treatment grants; clinical traveling fellowships; and research traveling fellowships.
The fellowship primary covers traveling and housing costs, ranging from $3,000 to $7,000. The other research grants will fund approved budgets not exceeding $50,000 per year.
Letters of proposal are due by Feb. 4, 2013; grants, by invitation only, and traveling fellowships are due by May 6.
NASS has funded than $2.6 million in multidisciplinary spine-related research in 1989.
