Scott Wait, MD, has joined Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associate in Charlotte. Dr. Scott Wait, neurosurgeon at Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine AssociatesDr. Wait completed a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He completed a second fellowship in skull base, endoscopic and neuro-oncology at the Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery in Sydney, Australia.

His clinical interests include pediatric neurosurgery, brain and spinal cord tumors, endoscopy, cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy surgery, neurotrauma and peripheral nerve surgery.

Dr. Wait's approach to neurosurgery is conservative and minimally invasive. He believes small incisions, endoscopy, quick ambulation after surgery and minimal hospital stays help patients experience the best outcome.

He received his medical degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville. He completed a medical internship with Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and a neurosurgical residency at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. Dr. Wait also received clinical research training at the National Institute of Health.
