Siemionow KrzysztofKris Siemionow, MD (Chicago Center for Orthopedics at Weiss Memorial Hospital, Chicago). Dr. Siemionow is a surgeon at the Chicago Center for Orthopedics and assistant professor of clinical orthopedics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has an active interest in spine devices and has been awarded several patents for developing technologies used in nerve and spine surgery.

 

He's received grants for his research, including one from the National Institutes of Health. His current research focuses on the aging spine, less invasive techniques and infection reduction. He participates in spine surgery mission trips to Uganda as a part of his Global Spine Outreach. Dr. Siemionow also performs surgery in several European and South American cities.

 

Dr. Siemionow earned his medical degree at Karol Marcinkowski University in Poland and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic, where he completed a neurosurgical spine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Spine Institute. Dr. Siemionow has also completed a fellowship in adult spine surgery at Rush University Medical Center as well as a pediatric spine fellowship at the Shriners Hospital for Children, both located in Chicago.
