Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Michael Stoffman of University of Buffalo Neurosurgery

Michael R. Stoffman, MD, is a neurosurgeon at University of Buffalo (N.Y.) Neurosurgery.

Dr. Stoffman specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, decompressive surgery, spine fusion and disc replacement. He has special interest in tumors of the brain, pituitary gland and spinal cord.

 

Dr. Stoffman has served as a principal investigator on a National Cancer Institute-funded grant, and has reviewed other physicians' grant applications for the National Institutes of Health.

 

He is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.

 

Dr. Stoffman graduated from the University of Ottawa (Canada) before completing his surgical internship at McGill University at the Montreal (Canada) Neurological Institute and his neurosurgery residency training at New Haven, Conn.-based Yale University, where he served as chief resident.
