Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Anthony Yeung of Desert Institute for Spine Care

Anthony Yeung, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Phoenix-based Desert Institute for Spine Care, where he specializes in treating degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine such as herniated discs, bulging disc and annular tears and foraminal stenonsis.

Dr. Yeung's techniques treat back and leg pain using endoscopic methods, endoscopically guided lasers and his very own FDA-approved Yeung Endoscopic Spine System. His written work has been published in over 85 scientific publications and he frequently lectures about the techniques he uses.

 

Additionally, Dr. Yeung serves as president of the Maricopa County Medical Society, Arizona Orthopedic Society, Western Orthopedic Society (Arizona chapter) and has served on the Arizona Medical Association board. He previously served as president of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeons and is currently executive director of the International Intradiscal and Transforaminal Therapy Society.

 

After graduating from Albuquerque-based University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Dr. Yeung completed his orthopedic surgery and general surgery residencies at Phoenix-based Maricopa County General Hospital.
