Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. W. Jay Krompinger of Orthopedic Associates of Hartford

W. Jay Krompinger, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon with Orthopedic Associates of Hartford (Conn.).

Dr. Krompinger specializes in treating spinal injuries and degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.

 

He began his career after earning his medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He then completed three internships: one in general surgery at Brown University, one in spinal surgery at Toronto General Hospital and the final in orthopedic surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center. After his internships, he had a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y.

 

Dr. Krompinger is a member of several professional associations, and he serves as the co-director of the Hartford Hospital Spine Center, and as the assistant director of the department of orthopedics at Hartford Hospital.

 

He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

 

Outside of work, he has a wife and family that are proud to call Connecticut home.
