Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Grant Shifflett of DISC Sports & Spine Center

Grant Shifflett, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon at the California-based DISC Sports & Spine Center

Dr. Shifflett specializes in minimally invasive and microsurgical techniques for cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal conditions. He was invited to join the center by DISC center founder Robert Bray Jr., MD.

 

Dr. Shifflett attended the University of Southern California for his medical degree where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He had a residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. His fellowship was at Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center.

 

Dr. Shifflett has been published in several publications for his research on minimally invasive and reconstructive spine surgery, and he is the author of two chapters in a textbook. He has been awarded two grants to perform clinical trials and his research has been presented internationally.

 

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Shifflett is a golfer and a sports enthusiast.
