Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. James Harms of Carle Foundation Hospital

James J. Harms, MD, is a spine surgeon with Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.

Dr. Harms' medical interests include cervical, thoracic and lumbar problems of the spine, degenerative spinal conditions, infections of the spine, spinal fractures and tumors of the spine.

 

Dr. Harms earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and completed his residency at the University of Illinois Hospital in Urbana. He also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital, Shriner's Hospital, University of Illinois Hospital.

 

Dr. Harms is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Illinois Orthopaedic Society, North American Spine Society and Central Illinois Orthopaedic Society.
