Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. John Peloza of Texas Back Institute

John Peloza, MD, is a spine surgeon at Texas Back Institute in Plano and has a special interest in minimally invasive, endoscopic spine surgery. He is passionate about new techniques, including disc replacement and nanotechnology for spine care.

He is a former spine consultant with the United States Ski Team. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Peloza is an advisor to Medtronic Sofamor Danek, Paradigm Spine and 4web. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and International Spine Injection Society.

 

Dr. Peloza attended the United States Air Force Academy as an Air Force Cadet and received his medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. His additional training includes a residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

 

Initially, Dr. Peloza underwent a knee and shoulder surgery fellowship and also studied spine surgery at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo.
