Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Rick Sasso of Indiana Spine Group

Rick C. Sasso, MD, co-founded and serves as president of the Indiana Spine Group with locations in Carmel, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Fishers and Danville. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Sasso serves as chief of spine surgery and a professor in the orthopedic department at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society and Cervical Spine Research Society, among many other organizations.

 

He performs minimally invasive spine surgery, treating spinal disorders. Dr. Sasso also contributes to the development of spine implants and technologies.

 

After receiving his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Sasso completed a surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He then completed three spine surgery fellowships at Northwestern University in Chicago, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and St. Gallen in Switzerland.
