K. Rad Payman, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon providing care at Advanced Spine Institute's Bakersfield and Lancaster, Calif., locations.
Specializing in reconstructive cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery, Dr. Payman performs minimally invasive and micro surgical spine procedures. His expertise includes adult degenerative spinal conditions, complex spine trauma, spinal deformity, motion preservation technologies and intervertebral disc replacement surgery.
A diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Payman is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society and California Orthopaedic Association.
After earning his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Dr. Payman completed a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the UCLA Medical Center. He then completed a spine surgery fellowship at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University.
