Glenn M. Amundson, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.
He specializes in advanced procedures in adult surgery of the spine, and has helped with FDA studies on open and laparoscopic lumbar spinal fusion.
Prior to joining Menorah Medical Center, Dr. Amundson was the director of spine surgery services and assistant chairman of the department of orthopedics at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Va. Dr. Amundson used to also hold positions as an assistant professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center, the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., and the Uniformed Services University of Health Science in Bethesda, Md.
Dr. Amundson received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Medical College. He did an orthopedic surgery residency at the Naval Hospital in San Diego and a spine fellowship at the University of California in San Diego. He also graduated from the United States Naval Academy, and served as a captain of the Medical Corps in the United States Navy Reserves.
