Spine leader to know: Dr. Iyla Kupershtein of Summit Medical Group

Iyla Kupershtein, MD, is a spine surgeon practicing at Summit Medical Group in New Jersey. He specializes in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine procedures to treat degenerative conditions, deformities, tumors, infections and metabolic diseases.

He is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Medical Association. Additionally, Dr. Kupershtein received the Patients' Choice Compassionate Award from MDx Medical for his superior care and services. Less than 3 percent of practicing physicians in the United States are awarded this honor.

 

He attended medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He went on to complete a residency in orthopedics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He completed a spine and scoliosis surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He also completed a fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.
