Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Sanjitpal Singh Gill of Medical Group of the Carolinas

Sanjitpal Singh Gill, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon practicing with Medical Group of the Carolinas in Greer, S.C. He is also an adjunct assistant professor in the department of engineering at Clemson (S.C.) University where he is researching biologic disc replacement.

Dr. Gill focuses on complex and minimally invasive spine surgery of the neck and back including athletic injuries of the spine. His research work centers on improving the care of spine disorders and injuries by using both non-surgical and surgical methods. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

Dr. Gill has provided care for numerous athletic teams and events. He previously served as the head team physician for the United States Adaptive Ski Team. He has also provided medical coverage for the United States Pro Cycling championships and the Greenville Drive minor league baseball team. Additionally, he has provided care for the Ford Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Hawaii and the United States Olympic Ski Team.

 

Dr. Gill earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He has completed fellowships in spine surgery at Emory University Spine Center in Atlanta and in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo.
