Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Karl Schultz of The Longstreet Clinic

Karl D. Schultz Jr., MD, is a neurosurgeon at Gainesville, Ga.-based The Longstreet Clinic and the chief medical advisor to Amendia and BOD Liaison. He began his private practice, Specialty Clinics of Georgia, in 2003 in Gainesville. He joined The Longstreet Clinic in April 2010 when his practice merged with the clinic. He is a member of Congress of Neurological Surgeons and American Association of Neurological Surgeons as well as a diplomat of the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Schultz has a professional interest in a wide range of intracranial and spinal conditions, including complex spinal reconstruction and minimally invasive spinal technology. He has deep-seated interest in the development of spinal implants and technologies, and he has been an advocate and clinical researcher for recent technologies that allow for biological reconstruction of vertebral compression fractures.

 

Dr. Schultz's has hospital privileges at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville and Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, Ga.

 

Dr. Schultz earned his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He completed his neurosurgical residency at The Emory Clinic and Emory University School of Medicine.
