Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Payam Farjoodi of Coastline Orthopaedic Associates

Payam Farjoodi, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon practicing at Coastline Orthopaedic Associates in Fountain Valley, Calif. He was previously a member of Perris, Calif.-based Healthpointe Medical Group. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society and California Orthopaedic Association. He is a founding member and vice president of the Iranian American Medical Association-California Chapter.

Dr. Farjoodi has won numerous awards over the course of his career, including the Johns Hopkins Medicine's Henry Strong Denison Award for Medical Student Research. He has served as contributing team physician for the Baltimore Orioles Baseball Organization. He has published extensively and his work has appeared in professional publications such as Spine and Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

 

Dr. Farjoodi focuses on the surgical and non-surgical treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar conditions. He uses minimally invasive techniques and has taught spine techniques to other spine surgeons. He has served as instructor at the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Laboratory in October 2013.

 

Dr. Farjoodi earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition, he has completed a complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at University of California, San Diego.
