Spine surgeon to know: Dr. Neville Alleyne of Tri-City Medical Center

Neville Alleyne, MD, is the director of the orthopedic spine center at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif. He also provides care at Orthopaedic Specialists of North County in Oceanside. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is affiliated with the New York Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Alleyne treats a wide-array of spinal disorders and uses minimally invasive techniques. He has an active professional interest in spinal instrumentation and has received several patents, including one for a spinal cord protective device. He has founded and served as chief medical director for several start-up companies such as ProSpine and NAS Medical. He currently serves on Aurora Spine's Scientific Advisory Board, and earlier this year, performed the first surgery using Aurora Spine's Discovery interbody cage with TiNano plasma spray coating.

 

Dr. Alleyne earned his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed his residency at Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital. He has also completed a spine surgery fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital and a total joint reconstruction fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School, all located in Boston.
