Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Neil Badlani of The Orthopedic Sports Clinic

Neil Badlani, MD, MBA, is an orthopedic spine surgeon providing care at The Orthopedic Sports Clinic in Houston. He is an avid researcher, and his work has been recognized nationally by the American Academy of Sports Medicine and Western Orthopaedic Association; and internationally by the Combined Orthopaedic Research Societies of the United States, Canada, Japan and Europe.

Dr. Badlani focuses on minimally invasive spine surgery and motion-sparing techniques as well as complicated spinal disorders such as scoliosis. He has also designed an in-house "back school," which a program to treat back pain through core strengthening, improved posture, flexibility and fitness.  

 

Dr. Badlani is American Board of Orthopedic Surgery-eligible. He has written numerous book chapters about spine surgery, including cervical laminoplasty and minimally invasive lumbar fusion. He is a reviewer for The Spine Journal.

 

Dr. Badlani completed a dual MD/MBA program at the University of Pittsburgh, and his residency at University of California, San Diego. He has also completed fellowships in both adult and pediatric spine surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
