"The most satisfying aspect of being a spine surgeon is the immediate sense of gratification that I feel when I am able to improve people's quality of life by alleviating their back pain and when I am able to show them the X-rays of their spines before and after surgery, particularly for patients with scoliosis," says Dr. Acosta.

Dr. Acosta earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed his neurosurgery residency at University of California, San Francisco. He has also completed a complex and reconstructive spine surgery fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago.
