Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Kingsley Chin of Institute for Modern & Innovative Spine Surgery

Kingsley R. Chin, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and founder of the Institute for Modern & Innovative Spine Surgery in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is currently an affiliate associate professor at the Charles E. Schmidt School of Medicine at Boca Raton-based Florida Atlantic University. He is a former chair of spine surgery of the department of orthopedics at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in Philadelphia.
Dr. Chin is certified by the Florida State Medical Licensure and is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in bone transplantation, discectomy, internal fracture fixation, lumbar spinal stenosis, spinal disorders, spinal fractures, arthritis and thoracic disc surgery.

Dr. Chin is an inventor and has 23 issued and pending patents on spinal devices. He invented the FacetFuse Minimally Invasive Screw System and MANTIS minimally invasive pedicle screw system for spinal fusion.

Dr. Chin earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He has also completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Harvard Medical School and a spine surgery fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
