George Picetti, MD, is a minimally invasive adult and pediatric spine surgeon with the Sutter Neuroscience Group and Sutter Neuroscience Institute in Sacramento. He is the head of minimally invasive spine surgery at the Sutter Children's Center. Dr. George Picetti of Sutter Neuroscience InstituteDr. Picetti specializes in complex adult and pediatric spine surgery and spinal deformity reconstruction. He treats various conditions, including scoliosis, spinal bifida, kyphosis, congenital and developmental spinal abnormalities, tumors, infections and fractures.  

He has written more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and is an active researcher. He also developed a new treatment for pediatric patients with scoliosis and degenerative lumbar disorders.

Dr. Picetti is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, California Medical Association, Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society and Scoliosis Research Society.

He earned his medical degree at Creighton University in Omaha and completed an internship and general surgery residency at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Diego. He completed an orthopedic residency at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Resident Training Program and an orthopedic spine fellowship at the Texas Back Institute in Plano.
