Philip Stahel, MD, is the director of service in the department of orthopedics at Denver Health Medical Center. He's an orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty in spine surgery and orthopedic trauma. He's also a professor of orthopedics and neurosurgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Dr. Stahel's research interests include pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury, spine cord injury and polytrauma; management of complex periarticular fractures; and mechanisms of traumatic hemorrhagic shock and coagulopathy.
He received his medical degree from the University of Zurich Medical School in Switzerland. He also completed a trauma fellowship at Charite University Medical Center in Berlin, Germany.
