The St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio has announced the expansion of the Pain Management Center and an extension of the University Hospitals Neurological Institute, according to a report by the West Shore Sun.
SJMC provides comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans for acute, chronic and cancer pain as well as headache and stroke-related issues to the nervous system, chronic low back pain, spinal stenosis, cancer-related pain, diabetic neuropathy and post herpetic neuralgia.
Due to a rise in patients suffering from chronic pain, the expansion was "in direct response to community needs," according to Medical Director Abdallah Kabbara, MD. In addition to extended hours and a larger range of pain management services, two doctors have been added to the team: Salim Hayek, MD, and Patrick McIntrye, MD.
