Report: Vermont Physicians Struggle to Treat Chronic Pain, Avoid Drug Abuse

A new report from the Vermont Medical Society's Education and Research Foundation shows physicians in the state are stressed about their vital role in the fight against prescription drug abuse, according to Vermont Public Radio. The report also includes recommendations, including changing insurance policies to cover non-drug therapies and improving the state's prescription drug monitoring data base.

Cy Jordan, MD, led the research effort, and found practitioners struggle to treat chronic pain while avoiding prescription drug abuse.
