Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Reid Abrams of UC San Diego Medical Center

Reid Abrams, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and hand surgeon at University of California San Diego Medical Center.

 

Dr. Abrams' expertise includes treating bone and soft-tissue conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Duputyren's contracture, injuries to tendons, nerves, ligaments and bones, sports injuries, benign and malignant tumors and arthritis. He also has research interests in upper extremity anatomy, peripheral nerve

and tendon repair and elbow biomechanics.

 

While instructing post-resident graduates in hand and microvascular surgery, Dr. Abrams also serves as chief of hand and microvascular surgery and vice chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery.

 

Dr. Abrams completed fellowships at Rady Children's Hospital – San Diego and at Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard University in Boston. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Colorado of Medicine in Aurora.
