A study published in Nature Medicine revealed a potential cure for osteoarthritis.
Here are four things to know:
1. Selective elimination of senescent cells with the drug may delay, prevent or reverse osteoarthritis' progression.
2. The researchers found senescent cells create the inflammatory molecules which drive osteoarthritis.
3. Researchers used a senolytic molecule called UBX0101 to slow osteoarthritis' progression in mice.
4. Results included slowed progression of the disease, reduced pain and better cartilage production.
