Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Barry Callahan of Alabama Bone & Joint Clinic

Barry S. Callahan, MD, of Pelham-based Alabama Bone & Joint Clinic is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand, wrist and elbow treatment.

Dr. Callahan performs reconstructive microsurgery and nerve injury reconstruction and has authored several publications and presentations throughout his career. He has served on the American Society for Surgery of the Hand's Public Information and Ethics Committees and is constantly engaged in research projects at the Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Research and Education Institute. Dr. Callahan also served as a clinical consultant for Hillsboro, Ore.-based Acumed.

 

Dr. Callahan graduated from Memphis-based University of Tennessee before completing his orthopedic surgery residency at the Indianapolis-based Indiana University Medical Center and a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Indianapolis-based Indiana Hand Center.
