US DePuy Synthes' Juan-José Gonzalez to lead AdvaMed's orthopedics sector: 5 things to know

Juan-José Gonzalez has been named head of Advanced Medical Technology Association's orthopedics sector. 

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Mr. Gonzalez serves as U.S. DePuy Synthes' president, managing strategic and commercial activities.

 

2. As head of AdvaMed's orthopedics sector, Mr. Gonzalez will coordinate both regulatory and reimbursement-related advocacy initiatives, which greatly impact Stryker Corp., Zimmer Biomet, Johnson & Johnson and the rest of AdvaMed's orthopedic member companies.

 

4. Mr. Gonzalez was at one point the president of DePuy Synthes Europe, Middle East, and Africa, a role that honed his ability to addressing customers' needs in ever-changing market environments.

 

5. Mr. Gonzalez obtained his engineering degree from the University of Lima, Peru, an MBA in marketing and corporate finance from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., and a master's degree in technology from Columbia University in New York City.
