Here are 12 orthopedic surgeons in the news this past week.

Richard Ferkel, MD, opened a practice in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

 

Bernie P. Davis, MD, a retired orthopedic surgeon, passed away this past Fri., Oct. 28.

 

Steven Becker, MD is joining the staff of PeaceHealth Medical Group's Orthopedic and Sports Medicine clinic in Ketchikan, Alaska.

 

After a consult last week, James Andrews, MD, performed exploratory surgery on the right knee of Kansas City Chiefs' running back Jamaal Charles.

 

Nashville-based Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance added orthopedic surgeons Lucas J. Burton, MD, and Robert Lowe III, MD, to its team.

 

Joel Boyd, MD, performed arthroscopic surgery on the right knee of Minnesota Wild center Zac Dalpe.

 

Warren Ayers, MD, is joining the staff of Maui (Hawaii) Memorial Medical Center.

 

Spencer based-Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint and Sports Surgeons added Andrew Pick, DO, and Iowa Spine added Daniel McGuire, MD, to their staffs.

 

Sports medicine physician Anthony Galea, MD, was found guilty of professional misconduct by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

 

Arthur Ting, MD, repaired the torn meniscus on the right knee of Denver Broncos' RB CJ Anderson, at the Fremont (Calif.) Surgery Center.
