Here are 14 orthopedic surgeons in the news this past week.

Bruce R. Buhr, MD; Michael Heggeness, MD; Steven J. Howell, MD; and James Joseph, MD, were named top orthopedic surgeons by the Wichita Business Journal.

 

The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified Didi Omiyi, MD.

 

The husband-wife orthopedic care team William Gallivan Jr., MD, and Karen Gallivan, RN, was honored at the Arthritis Foundation Central Coast's Taste of the Town fundraiser.

 

The Boston-based orthopedic center New England Baptist Hospital added Andrew Braziel, MD, to its physician team.

 

The Downers Grove, Ill.-based DuPage Medical Group added eight physicians to its medical team, including a new orthopedic surgeon, Tom Smith, DO.

 

Robert Hunter, MD is working to expand a physician education program for active-duty orthopedic surgeons.

 

Andrew Wassef, MD, was named the new medical director of the MemorialCare Joint Replacement Center at the California-based hospital Long Beach Memorial.

 

Pen Bay Medical Center hired Jeffrey Rasmussen, MD, to work out of Pen Bay Orthopaedics.

 

The Philadelphia Hand Center — a practice with office locations across Pennsylvania and New Jersey — added two physicians to its team: Richard J. Tosti, MD, and Adam B. Strohl, MD.

 

The Bradenton, Fla.-based practice Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine & Pain Management added Andrés E. O’Daly, MD, to its physician team.
