Dr. Satyajit Marawar named Syracuse VA Medical Center orthopedics chief: 3 things to know

Satyajit Marawar, MD, has been named the orthopedics chief at Syracuse VA Medical Center, according to Syracuse.com. Syracuse VA Medical Center is a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in New York.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Marawar:

 

1. He has practiced at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

 

2. His research has been published in journals including the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery and the Journal of Arthroplasty.

 

3. He earned his medical degree from Government Medical College Nagpur in India. He went on to complete a residency in orthopedic surgery at India's King Edward Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery at Syracuse's State University of New York Upstate Medical University.
