Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. J. Turner Vosseller of Columbia Orthopaedics

J. Turner Vosseller, MD, practices with New York City-based Columbia Orthopaedics. He is also an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Columbia University Medical Center and an assistant attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, both in New York City.

Dr. Vosseller focuses on foot and ankle reconstruction, including reconstruction for flat feet and high arches. He also has expertise in treating bunions, hammertoe, claw toes, tendon disorders, foot and ankle trauma and foot and ankle arthritic conditions. His research interests include the use of different suture materials in foot and ankle surgeries. He has authored a textbook chapter and numerous peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Vosseller  is also involved in providing charitable care and has spent time in Moshi, Tanzania, helping local physicians treat orthopedic conditions.

 

Dr. Vosseller obtained his medical degree at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he also completed his orthopedic surgery residency. He completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
