Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey creates Dr. Timothy Hosea Team Physician Award: 6 points

The Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey has created the Dr. Timothy Hosea Team Physician Award.

Here are six points:

 

1. The award was established in honor of Timothy Hosea, MD, who passed away in August.

 

2. Dr. Hosea was the chair of the Sports Medicine Commission for the United States Rowing Association, as well as chair of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.

 

3. He was also the U.S. Olympic team physician for the rowing, canoe/kayak and cycling teams at the XXVIIth Olympiad in Sydney.

 

4. He has been the recipient of the ATSNJ Presidential Award and the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association's David G. Moyer Award.

 

5. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

 

6. "The Dr. Timothy Hosea Team Physician Award will embody the legacy that he has left behind on the profession of athletic training," stated Eric Schwartz, ATSNJ President.
