Focusing on the prevention of women's sports injuries, Elizabeth Matzkin, MD, is the surgical director of women's musculoskeletal health at Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital. She is also an assistant professor at Boston-based Harvard Medical School. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, cartilage and ligament repair as well as joint reservation and replacement.
Dr. Matzkin previously served as the team physician for the Durham, N.C.-based Duke University men's football team, and currently is a team physician for the U.S. National Soccer Team, U.S. Paralympics Soccer Team and U.S. Women’s National Hockey Team. Additionally, Dr. Matzkin is the team physician for North Easton, Mass.-based Stonehill College.
After earning her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, she completed an internship at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. She completed her fellowship at Duke University.
