Here are 10 orthopedic surgeons making the news:

 1. Chris J. Dangles, MD, was named to the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons delegate to the American Medical Association. Dr. Dangles specializes in total joint replacement and revision hip and knee surgeries.

 

2. Darren L. Johnson, MD, was named the 33rd president of the Southern Orthopaedic Association. He is presently the chair of the department of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at UK HealthCare in Lexington.

 

3. Scott A. Rodeo, MD, was named the New York Giants’ new head team physician. Dr. Rodeo has been an associate team physician for the team since 2000.

 

4. Kevin J. Bunn, MD, and J. Christopher Gayton, MD, joined Coastal Orthopedics in South Carolina.

 

5. Richard Ferkel, MD, discovered bone edema in Spurs center Boban Marjanović's left ankle after conducting a physical, including an MRI.

 

6. Paul Phillips III, MD, joined Hill Country Memorial Medical Group in Texas.

 

7. Neal ElAttrache, MD, will perform elbow surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers'  Walker Buehler. Mr. Buehler is anticipated to be out of action for 12 to 18 months following surgery.

 

8. David Brown, MD, joined Orthopedic Associates' team in South Carolina. The practice presently has 10 physicians.

 

9. Daniel Miller, DPM, joined Kansas City Foot and Ankle in Missouri.

 

10. John Ayres, MD, joined Owego (N.Y.) Health's Advanced Orthopedic Group.
