1. Secretary Kerry had a surgical procedure performed to repair his broken femur.

 

2. Dr. Burke is an orthopedic surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital.

 

3. Dr. Burke is also a clinical instructor in orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School.

 

4. The procedure was a four-hour operation and was performed under a regional anesthetic.

 

5. Dr. Burke believes that Secretary Kerry will make a complete recovery after a short hospitalization.
