Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Benjamin Christopher Bengs of UCLA Orthopaedic Center Santa Monica

Benjamin Christopher Bengs, MD, is an associate professor in the UCLA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and orthopedic surgeon who treats patients at the Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital.

Dr. Bengs' special interests revolve around arthroplasty and trauma, and his clinical interests include complex trauma, hip resurfacing, osteoarthritis, total knee replacement and avascular necrosis.

 

In 2010, Dr. Bengs was honored with the Career Development Award In Total Joint And Trauma Surgery from Orthopedic Research & Education Foundation for his work "Proximal Femoral Bone Loss and Femoral Stem Stability in Total Hip Arthroplasty." Dr. Bengs has also been featured in U Magazine, Arthritis Today and Ob. Gyn. News, among others.

 

Dr. Bengs received his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC, before completing an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Beng also completed a fellowship in orthopedic surgery from UCLA School of Medicine.
