Here are 10 orthopedic surgeons who were in the news this week.

 

Kevin Cassidy, MD, joined Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset in Great Neck, N.Y.

James Voos, MD, performed knee surgery on Cleveland Browns starting left defensive end Phil Taylor.

Bikramjit S. Grewal, MD, joined Cape Fear Orthopedics after finishing a fellowship in sports medicine at The Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Ga.

David Altchek, MD, of Hospital for Special Surgery, performed elbow surgery on Blue Jays left-hander Daniel Norris.

Resurgens Orthopaedics Co-President Kay Kirkpatrick, MD, was named president-elect of the Georgia Orthopaedic Society as well as a council member-at-large for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Tad L. Gerlinger, MD, was awarded the 2014 Uniformed Services University Alumni Medicine Award for outstanding achievement. He now provides care at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago.

Greg Brown, MD, joined Olympia (Wash.) Orthopaedics Associates.

Robert Deveney, MD, performed the first MAKOplasty procedure in Connecticut for robotic surgical treatment.
