Ortho Development celebrates 20th anniversary

Orthopedic

Orthopedic device design and manufacturing company Ortho Development turned 20 years old over the weekend.

The company was incorporated on Sept. 20, 1994 by Barry Hubbard and Japan Medical Dynamic Marketing. The company was originally launched to design and manufacture orthopedic implants for the Japanese market incorporating technology from the United States. However, the company has evolved over the years.

Now, Ortho Development has sales in both the United States and Japan. The company's product portfolio includes implants and surgical instrumentation for knee and hip replacement, trauma, fracture repair and spine treatment. The company was launched with four corporate employees and one distributor in Japan; it has now grown to 100 employees at the corporate headquarters and several independent distributors.

Brent Bartholomew, President of Ortho Development, attributes the company's growth and success to a unique culture with a responsive, small-company feel.

"Our employees are passionate about making a difference and improving peoples' lives while working with integrity, respect and attention to results," says Mr. Bartholomew. The company plans to continue to build on its current success and innovate in the orthopedic space.
