Bloomberg: Americans point to healthcare as most important issue for 1st time ever

Practice Management

Healthcare topped the list as an important challenge in the nation, based on a new Bloomberg News poll, according to CNN Politics.

The poll included responses from 1,001 U.S. adults.

Here are four insights:

1. Thirty-five percent of polled Americans, a plurality, chose healthcare as the "most important issue facing the country right now."

2. Americans have never cited healthcare as the most pressing issue since Bloomberg included the answer in its poll in 2010. The option, healthcare, has never received more than 20 percent of Americans' votes and was never a plurality.

3. In the past, Americans tended to choose unemployment, terrorism or government spending as the greatest challenges.

4. In this poll, unemployment and jobs ranked second with 13 percent of votes.
