Cabell Huntington Hospital produces Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery: 5 takeaways

Huntington, W.Va.-based Cabell Huntington Hospital created the Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery, according to The State Journal.

Here are five takeaways:

 

1. A leader in minimally invasive surgery, Cabell Huntington installed the region's first da Vinci robot in 2006.

 

2. The hospital's Robotics Surgical Center now houses two da Vinci systems.

 

3. The new Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery will feature robotic surgeries as well as endoscopy and laparoscopy.

 

4. The institute will offer orthopedic, cardiac, oncology, gynecology and gastroenterology services.

 

5. A multidisciplinary team of physicians and leaders will lead the new institute.
