Banner Health's partnership with fellow Phoenix-based The Core Institute will continue to expand thanks to Orthopedic & Spine Institute opening in downtown Phoenix, according to AZ Big Media.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The Core Institute's physicians staff the clinic alongside faculty from Phoenix-based University of Arizona College of Medicine's orthopedic department.

 

2. The clinic specializes in muscoskeletal treatments and prioritizes research and innovation.

 

3. David J. Jacofsky, MD, CEO of The Core Institute said: "Innovation and learning are at the forefront of The Core Institute's mission and this new partnership… More and more patients will continue to seek academic experts in medicine as robotics, bioscience, genomics and research become more integral to healthcare delivery."

 

4. The Core Institute and Banner Health have partnered extensively since launching the Sun City West, Ariz.-based Banner Core Center for Orthopedics, at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in 2011. The partnership has yielded eight new clinics in the past six years.

 

5. The Orthopedic & Spine Institute is the first outpatient clinic opened by the Banner Health and The Core Institute partnership.
