Johnson City, Tenn.-based Niswonger Children’s Hospital and Chattanooga-based Shriners Hospitals for Children are partnering to open a pediatric orthopedic care clinic, the Johnson City Press reports.
Here's what you need to know.
1. The clinic will be the first in 89 years to not be located inside a Shriners Hospital.
2. Pediatric orthopedic surgeon Brandon Green, MD, will practice outside of the clinic.
Dr. Green has a personal attachment to pediatric conditions. His daughter was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and had to travel hours away for proper care.
3. The clinic will treat numerous conditions including: scoliosis, hip dysplasia and limb length discrepancy.
4. Additional Shriner orthopedic physicians will practice out of the clinic in the future.
