Intalere launches cost transparency tool: 5 things to know

Practice Management

Intalere launched its OptiPrice Advantage tool which provides facilities with a database of product costs in an attempt to help hospitals save on medical and surgical supply costs.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The tool helps facilities negotiate with suppliers, while reducing the prep time to renegotiate cost contracts. It does this by using pricing data submitted by more than 400 hospitals from across the country in a searchable database.

2. The tool allows supplies to be sorted into categories, so they can be analyzed against what other health systems are paying.

3. As part of the process, the tool can generate a revised price lit by SKU, so members can put the supplies into a pricing amendment template.

4. The company said the tool could take negotiation preparation from a six-month process to a "few hours."

5. Intalere will provide ongoing customer support, and said the system can be learned in less than an hour.
