Colorado medical center providing military orthopedic surgeons with top-of-the-line training: 4 takeaways

Practice Management

Robert Hunter, MD, is supporting the troops in a way only he and other orthopedic surgeons can; by teaching them the latest and greatest orthopedic practices, The Chaffee County Times reports

Here's what you should know.

1. Dr. Hunter is the director of the Orthopedic Center of Excellence at the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.

2. Dr. Hunter develops a yearly course that teachers military orthopedic surgeons the latest arthroscopic surgical techniques.

3. Dr. Hunter started the program in 2010 after the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons approached the Arthroscopy Association of North America looking for help training their surgeons.

4. AANA fully funds the course for all military attendees.

Dr. Hunter is limited by the size of the training facility, but for the 48 surgeons who get to attend his class, the training is integral.
