The Pitt County Chamber of Commerce named Billy Smith, MD, winner of the 2015 Small Business Leader award, according to a Reflector report.

1. Dr. Smith practices at Eastern Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in Greenville, N.C., which he founded.
2. Dr. Smith also provides care at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
3. The chamber gives out the Small Business Awards every year to honor leaders in the county's business community who have demonstrated successful operations.
4. It is the first time in the award's 30-year history that a physician has been named a winner.
